Over the past five years dekanta has brought fine Japanese Whisky to all corners of the globe. For the first time people outside of Japan have been able to receive the world’s best whisky delivered direct to their door. We’re proud to bring an authentic piece of Japanese heritage to each of our valued customers.

The story of dekanta begins with the vision of our founder, Makiyo Masa. Makiyo’s deep rooted appreciation for Japanese whisky comes from a family history stretching back to the industry’s origin. She grew up learning first-hand from distillers with unparalleled passion for their craft. Given her background, she was shocked at the limited selection of Japanese whisky that was available when traveling abroad. Other than buying an airline ticket, people outside of Japan had no way to purchase authentic bottles. Makiyo knew this had to change. People deserved access to Japan’s finest spirits, no matter where they lived. In 2015 she unveiled dekanta, the first e-commerce website devoted to selling Japan’s most renowned spirits.

Five years later, dekanta has shipped tens of thousands of bottles to happy customers in over 60 countries. Our world-class team looks forward to continuing to improve our service and inventory selection. We look forward to serving you and all of your whisky needs in 2020 and beyond!

Anniversary Week Event

In celebration of our anniversary, we’ll be spending the next 10 days highlighting Japanese Whisky’s most esteemed distilleries and brands. Tune in each day to learn valuable insights about the full gamut of Japanese Whisky, from the most legendary releases to those with stories that are just beginning to be told.

To finish off our anniversary celebration, we’ll end with a live online celebration. On Friday June 12th, come and join us for our online party – dekanta Live – where we’ll have games, karaoke, giveaways, guests, a Q&A with dekanta founder Makiyo Masa, and of course, plenty of Japanese whisky, all hosted by our very own, hilarious pink unicorn, Kilara Sen.
