Nikka was the life’s work of Masataka Taketsuru, the “Father of Japanese Whisky.” Its products are rightly celebrated worldwide for their quality, and it is not an exaggeration to say that you can feel the ingenuity of Masataka in Nikka whisky. Of all Nikka whiskies, perhaps the most celebrated is their Yoichi.
This particular Single Malt Yoichi 1986 bottle was chosen as the Best Japanese Single Malt Whisky at the 2007 World Whiskies Awards. Distilled in 1986, then bottled after 20 years of maturation. A perfect whisky indeed!
