|Bottle Number||One of 166|
The Shinshu Mars distillery stands at the mountain foot of the Japanese Alps. Just like the four seasons which put a strong mark on the Japanese Alps the many brands of drinks made in this distillery each has its own peculiar character.
Nose: Vanilla – loads of it. Creme brule, custard pudding, cotton candy. You get the gist. Basically, its a combo of advocaat and chinsuko cookies. Water brings out a bit of wood smoke and some fruit (ripe peaches). Palate: Cherry sauce, lemon pie, rhubarb jam, chinsuko cookies again, and quite a bit of pepper (of the white and pink variety), as well as some tannins. The finish is medium-long and rather dry on dried apricots. Vanilla ice cream.
