All the way from Hokkaido’s Tsurumura winery, this expression is made using Zweigelt grapes cultivated at the winery. The Zweigelt grape originates from Austria, developed in 1922. As Hokkaido’s climate is
less humid and cooler than the rest of Japan, the area is more suitable for grape cultivation.
The Zweigelt 2014 opens up with a subtle spicy character. The spice is joined on the nose by gooseberries and raspberries, which linger through to the mouth. The smooth and spicy character of the wine pairs wonderfully with grilled, lean red meat and fish.
