Journeys – Geisha

For the Journeys Geisha, artist Kikue Ichihashi, wanted to develop traditional elements of Japanese culture with a modern twist. Taking inspiration from Cyberpunk artwork and anime, Kikue created a stunning design that showcases an elegant, android Geisha, surrounded by a dark atmosphere. This signifies the often contrasting lives of Geisha in Japan, who always looked beautiful and graceful from the outside, but often lived a brutal and troubled existence behind the scenes.

The design is surrounded by Spider Lilies, which translate to “Higan Bana” ( 彼岸花 ) in Japanese. Higan means “the other side”, which refers to the afterlife, often resulting in the flower being referred to as the “ghost flower”. This set takes you on a journey across the enthralling world that is the modern Japanese whisky landscape, showcasing top quality single malts from rising stars of the industry.
