Hombo Shuzo is the company behind Japan’s rising Mars Shinshu whisky distillery and the popular Wa Bi craft gin range.
In their Mars Yamanashi Winery, the company also produces some exceptional wines. This Cattle Rouge was borne from a great harvest in 2012. Using 1/4 Merlot, 1/4 Schiller, and almost 2/4 Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, this bottle brings forth great balance. Notes of dark cherries, tobacco, and herbs dominate the nose and palate, while deep spice and oak linger through the medium finish.
