The newest addition to the Suntory lineup

The Suntory Hibiki is as popular as ever, in March this year the company released a new blended of this whisky christened Hibiki Japanese Harmony. This blend has been well received by whisky fans and wet thought we’d introduce it to you.

The blend is developed by a third-generation blender named Shingo Torii alongside with fourth-generation blender Shinji Fukuyo and is a blend of over 12 different malt and grain whiskies from the Yamazaki distillery, the Hakushu distillery AND the Chita distillery.

The bottle for this whisky is a 24 faceted glass bottle which is supposed to symbolize the 24 seasons of the old Japanese lunar calendar. According to Suntory the blend also pays tribute to the original Hibiki as it uses the same malt and grains which went into that, it thus uses American White Oak whisky for its base blended with whisky matured in rare Mizunara and sherry malt casks.

As for aroma it is described as having a hint of rose and lychee, rosemary, mature woodiness and sandalwood. The palate is said to have a “honey-like sweetness, candied orange peel and white chocolate, with a long, subtle finish.”

It goes without saying that we at Dekanta have a bottle of this whisky for you. So what are you waiting for, go and order it now!
