At dekanta, we’re passionate about spreading the love we have for Japanese whisky and that means making a huge selection of the best expressions from across our beautiful country accessible to the masses.

Over the years we’ve worked hard to set-up intricate and punctual distribution networks right around the globe, so that you can get your hands on the incredible whisky that Japan’s master distillers and master blenders have worked tirelessly to create.

Whether it’s whisky from the big names like Yamazaki, Hakushu, Hibiki, Yoichi or Chichibu you’re after, or Ji-whisky from our smaller producers like Akashi, Nagahama and Fuji Gotemba, we’ll deliver their outstanding (often award-winning) whiskies direct to your front door – that’s our guarantee.

You can find all delivery time frames below. In very rare instances, in certain countries, bottles may be stopped at customs and receive a slight delay, but we regularly communicate with all local authorities to ensure that this is not a regular occurrence.

Returns & Refunds Policy

You may cancel your order for whatever reason up to the point that it is shipped. Dekanta does reserve the right to subtract the credit card processing fee, usually around 2.5% depending on your country, from any amount that is refunded. After the order has been shipped, no refund will be offered unless the item is returned back, subject to conditions below, at which point your payment will be refunded, minus any shipping charges and/or credit card processing fees incurred.

If you have taken delivery of your order and are unhappy with any of the products received you may request a refund or exchange for items, providing you meet the following criteria:

  • All items must be returned within 14 days of receipt as per the distance selling act;
  • All Items must be returned to in their original unopened condition;
  • All Items must be returned in their original packaging complete with any accessories.

If an item from your order is damaged or broken we will be happy to reimburse the cost of returning the item back to us or in some cases arrange a courier to collect on our behalf.

All refunds will be paid within a maximum of 14 days of dekanta receiving the goods back from you, but usually this will be within three working days.

It is important to note that although we adhere to keep our information correct, all images and descriptions are intended for illustrative purposes only and may not be exact representations of what we have in stock. Due to a small amount of our product base being purchased from Auction or from Private Collections, we cannot guarantee that all stock is in 100% perfect condition. Any issues or deviations from normal will be clearly detailed in the product descriptions and everything you purchase from us may be returned if you are not 100% happy.

Exchanging Items

We will be more than happy to exchange any product you receive from dekanta regardless of your reason, providing you meet the following criteria:

  • You must return all items for exchange within 14 days of receipt;
  • All Items must be returned to us in their original condition;
  • All Items must be returned in their original packaging complete with any accessories.

Please note that we are not responsible for any return shipping costs you may incur while returning the original item to us, unless your item was broken or damaged upon receipt.

Returning / Exchanging Items

Unless the item is broken / damaged or delivered in error, you are responsible for the shipping costs when returning the item back to us. We also highly recommend that you insure the item when returning it back to us because the item must be returned in its original condition. Please note that we are not responsible for breakages or non-delivery by your courier.

For all returns, please make sure you do the following:

  • Include a copy of your sales invoice with the item(s) you are returning;
  • Let us know why you’re returning the item;
  • Attach your returns shipping label to the packaging;
  • Take care to cover up any other addresses on the packaging;
  • If applicable, please specify what product you would like to exchange the item for.
