Yamazakura is a Ji-whisky distillery owned by Sasanokawa Shuzo Co. This particular bottle is a rare, young release that was aged in an American bourbon barrel for about 4 months. Despite being young, the whisky brings forth a smooth intensity beyond its years. One of the better Ji-whiskies, and one you don’t want to miss. Bottled at cask strength, and ready to show you the unique flavor of young, well-made whisky.
Sasanokawa is a small distillery which has been making a Ji-whisky simply named Cherry since 1946. The distillery itself is located in the center of Koriyama city and Fukushima prefecture, with a population of 330.000. For Fukushima prefecture the population of the city is relatively large, and its industry is prosperous.
The Tokaido Shinkansen and the Tokaido high way buses run from north to south of the prefecture. From west to east the road runs from Iwaki city to Niigata which are connected by the eastern railway line, the western and a highway and a motorway. Many leading companies have offices and branches in the city. The company makes refined sake, synthetic sake, shochu, whisky, spirits and liqueurs.
