Sasanokawa Shuzo Co. Ltd was founded in 1765 and has been producing whisky since 1946, making it one of Japan’s older distilleries. An unblended whisky is used in this product and is aged over 20 years. For the first 15 years, it aged in casks, before it was moved to tanks. Finally, it was returned to casks to complete its maturation. Only 20 bottles of this were ever produced, making it a very rare item.
*This particular bottling was produced prior to the introduction of Japanese whisky labeling standards in February 2021.*
