Only 1 left in stock
Suntory is the oldest whisky making company in Japan. Its origins stretch back to a small shop, started in 1899 by Torii Shinjiro, which specialized in selling imported wines. Today, it is the largest and most recognizable whisky maker in Japan. The Suntory Pure Malt 12 years is yet another winning blend from the company. Distilled at Yamazaki – the country’s oldest distillery – and coming with an attractive price label, it is a safe bet that you will get what you pay for. This one is a Takarohana special release.
Yamazaki is Japan’s oldest whisky distillery opened in 1923, it was founded by Shinjiro Torii near Oaska. The location was chosen because of the excellent water supply in the area. This seems to have payed off, today Single Malts from the Yamazaki distillery has the largest share of any single malts whiskies in Japan. The 18 year old Yamazaki Single Malts is thought by many to be the best whisky in the world and has for example won six consecutive double gold medals at the San Francisco Spirits Competitions from 2008 to 2013.
