Yamazaki 12 Year Old
Suntory is the oldest whisky making company in Japan. Its origins stretch back to a small shop, started in 1899 by Torii Shinjiro, which specialized in selling imported wines. Today, it is the country’s largest and most recognizable producer of quality whisky. This 12 year old Yamazaki was introduced to the market in 1984 and was the first seriously marketed Japanese single malt whisky. By now, it is an internationally coveted whisky, winning award after award, and having been named by Jim Murray as being the best whisky in the world. You know you have quality when you have Yamazaki. Please note that the delivery time for this bottle may take up to 15 working days.
Yamazaki is Japan’s oldest whisky distillery opened in 1923, it was founded by Shinjiro Torii near Oaska. The location was chosen because of the excellent water supply in the area. This seems to have payed off, today Single Malts from the Yamazaki distillery has the largest share of any single malts whiskies in Japan. The 18 year old Yamazaki Single Malts is thought by many to be the best whisky in the world and has for example won six consecutive double gold medals at the San Francisco Spirits Competitions from 2008 to 2013.
