This stunning Karuizawa 50 Year Old was produced at the legendary distillery in 1965 before being matured in a single bourbon cask, making this expression rather unique. The vast majority of whisky produced at the now silent distillery (which closed its doors in 2003) was matured in sherry casks, so this one really is extra-special. It was bottled by La Maison Du Whisky at a cask strength of 62.6% in 2016 and comes packaged in a truly stunning bottle and box that included a book, pictures and other collectible Karuizawa memorabilia.
As a 50 Year Old bourbon matured Karuizawa whisky, of which on 199 bottles were produced, this has to be one of the most valuable and collectible single cask whiskies on the market just now.
