Small distillery Karuizawa (Karuizawa), founded in 1955 on the site of the vineyard at the foot of Mount Asama at an altitude of 850 meters above sea level, specializes in traditional and low-circulation production of high-quality whiskey. Karuizawa uses only barley variety Golden Promise, wooden vats for the wort, small stills and Spanish barrels of sherry.
