Hibiki 12 Years Old (No Box)
Out of stock
The Hibiki continues to be one of the most popular whisky from Japan. The name “Hibiki” means harmony in Japanese. The name also symbolizes the unique marriage of malts and harmonious blend of flavors in the whisky. The sweet floral aroma of the hand-selected matured malts, combined with a natural wood essence, creates a truly distinctive whisky, with a full-bodied taste. The 24 faces of the bottle symbolize the ancient tradition of “Sekki” – the age-old Japanese calendar. It has been followed for centuries and represents 24 seasons. Front labeling is made from the hand-crafted Japanese paper, “Washi”.

Towering over many of its competitors, Hakushu is the highest operational distillery in Japan, with the site standing at over 2000 feet above sea level. Rather like its Scottish counterpart, Dalwhinnie (the highest distillery in Scotland) some would say the altitude plays a huge part in the character and style of a spirit. Hakushu is no exception, producing a wonderfully balanced and characterful malt of the highest quality.
Nose: Juicy marmalade, with real chunks of orange, cooked apples dusted with cinnamon, thick honey, and plum wine. Palate: Crushed almonds, stewed fruits, clove-infused oranges, with sherry malt and a subtle core of oak. Finish: Bright and flavorsome, with crisp apple and citrus.
