This hidden gem was distilled over 20 years ago by Wakatsuru Shozou Distillery – a long established, but not the best known Japanese distilleries. Wakatsuru Distillery obtained a license to distill whisky in 1953 and has been producing a small amount of whisky on and off since this time. Although some Ji-whisky companies would import unblended whiskies from Scotland and just blend, bottle, and sell them, this 20 year old dram is a single malt whisky made at the company’s own distillery.
