
This third single malt release from the fast rising Shizuoka Distillery is made from a combination of whisky produced in the distillery's ex-Karuizawa still and its wood-fired pot still. It was then matured for three years in first-fill bourbon barrels and quarter casks, resulting in an intensely fruity and rich expression that delivers mango, sliced apples and slated caramel on the nose, before the palate arrives with fresh pastry, dark chocolate and candied peels. It's a tremendous creation, as we have come to expect from Shizuoka, and undoubtedly deserves a place in your whisky cabinet.
