Our customers never tire of Yamazaki. The Sherry Cask version, aged in Oloroso sherry butts for over a decade, offers a trademark taste, which is especially popular. Jim Murray described this Yamazaki as “nutty, thick, dry... as rounded as a snooker ball” — and you know you're on to something when Murray praises it. The tannin, and other polyphenols contained in the sherry oak casks, leach into the whisky, imbuing it with a darker reddish hue than North American white oak casks could ever provide. That is the secret behind the rich aroma of Yamazaki malts.
