Yamazaki 25 Year Old (Old Version)

The Yamazaki 25 Year Old is one of the most distinguished expressions in Japanese single malt whisky. Representing decades of work perfecting the very idea of what Japanese whisky means at the country’s first malt whisky distillery, this exceptional release brings together rare, long-matured expressions to create a profile of exceptional complexity.

The character of Yamazaki 25 is shaped by long maturation in a selection of American oak, Spanish oak and Japanese Mizunara casks. Over at least a quarter of a century, they develop layers of rich fruit, dark chocolate and warming spice, complemented by the distinctive incense-like aromas associated with Mizunara oak.

The result is excellent.
