The Suntory Open was a prestigious stop on the Japan Golf Tour, running from 1973 through 2007, primarily held at Narashino Country Club (1974–1997) and later at Sobu Country Club, Chiba.

To mark the 20th anniversary, Suntory released a special decanter-style blended whisky, which features a golf ball shaped into the base. This limited-edition release was branded specifically for the tournament and remains a sought-after collectors’ item.

Tasting Notes

On the Nose

Ripe orchard fruits (apples, pears), soft vanilla, gentle oak spice, and a hint of smoke.

On the Palate

Smooth and rounded with creamy malt, stewed fruits, and subtle cinnamon warmth. Mid-palate reveals hints of honeyed nuts and light roasted coffee.

The Finish

Long and gently bitter, with lingering notes of dried fruit, spice, and toasted oak.
