Suntory old whisky is a series of whiskies from Suntory, first released in 1950 when it was considered the classiest of all of Suntory’s whiskies. It still holds its own as most people are pleasantly surprised when they try it. This particular bottle was released last 2010 to celebrate the Year of the Tiger. The whisky has a scent of marmalade and varnish, with somewhat faint earth and undergrowth notes. The taste reminds us of caramel, with grainy harshness and plastics peeking through; although it is somewhat suppressed.
