Sagami’s Dream is the flagship red by Sagami Dream Farm winery in Kanagawa. It is also one of the few expressions to put Japanese wine in its very own category, produced using the Japan-excusive “Fuji’s Dream” grape variety. The variety was created by Tomio Shimura, by breeding Merlot and mountain grapes, making it able to survive in the warm, rainy climate of Japan. As a result, Sagami’s Dream brings forth the classic fruity, light character of the Merlot grapes, while the mountain grapes deliver strong tannins, oak, dark chocolate and subtle smoke.
