The Karuizawa Distillery was established in 1955 in the foothills of Mount Asama – an active volcano. The area is a popular mountain resort and the distillery is the highest in Japan at 850m above sea level. Everything from Karuizawa is really good. This particular bottle is a vintage from the remaining stock of the legendary closed Karuizawa distillery. It was distilled in 1999 and was aged for at least 14 years before being bottled in 2013. It is presented in an original box. We can’t recommend this enough!
