This stunning, super-premium release from Mars Komagatake is a 27 Year Old single malt created at the brilliant Shinshu distillery by marrying three Sherry casks distilled in 1986, 1988 and 1990 and an American White Oak cask from 1986. The results are a smooth, well-balanced and rich whisky that delivers a plethora of elegant notes on the nose, palate and finish. This is one of the best single malts in the Mars Komagatake range, and with highly limited numbers available, it's worth acting fast if you want to get your hands on a bottle.
