The 8-Headed Dragon label
Yamata no Orochi is a giant snake with eight heads from Japanese mythology. The label shows it as a dragon-like figure, from a book cover published by Hasegawa Takejirō.
Why this Karuizawa is rare
Karuizawa (a whisky distillery at the foot of Mount Asama, northwest of Tokyo) was mothballed at the end of 2000 and demolished in 2016, so its stock can never be replaced. This cask spent 35 years maturing before it was bottled.
