Karuizawa 1978 Retro Label is an exceptional single malt from the now legendary Karuizawa distillery closed for many years. Aged for 36 years, it has a rich and balanced texture, and extraordinary complexity. Expressing rich fruity aromas of apple, pear, banana, but also creamy notes of vanilla rice milk and salted butter caramel. The cask #8383 made in American oak which was previously served to age Bourbon whisky, has strongly influenced and transmitted aromas of malted barley and candied fruit (lemon and pear).
