Chichibu distillery is a small distillery with only nine full-time employees. It is owned by Venture whisky, which was founded in 2004, in Chichibu city, Saitama, just outside of Tokyo (hence its name). This particular offering is aged in port pipe barrels. The palate is sweet custard and vanilla, with a hint of citrus and maltiness. As with everything else from the Chichibu distillery, Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu “Port Pipe” is highly recommended. Distilled in cask number 1387 in 2009 and bottled in 2012, with only limited number of bottles ever released!
