Karuizawa is the gold standard of rare Japanese whisky. The distillery closed its doors in 2011, although it had not been producing whisky for over a decade. Being a silent distillery, everything from Karuizawa is a rare collector’s whisky and this Ichiro’s Choice Peated Golden Promise was distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2006. This is a rare vintage bottling.
