As a memento of the now-closed Japanese whisky distillery Hanyu, Ichiro Akuto, the man who rescued the remaining stock from this silent distillery and owns Venture Whisky Ltd./Chichibu Distillery, released a special edition bottle to Bar Salvador. Only 10 bottles were released of this expression, making it an ultra-rare item to have in your collection! Distilled in 2000, the last year of Hanyu’s operation, the Hanyu Whisky for Bar Salvador, was first matured in a Hogshead barrel and then an American oak sherry butt cask, delivering a sweet and strong sherry flavor with woody and earthy notes. This single malt whisky was bottled in 2007 and is non-chill-filtered and non-colored.
