The Hanyu Distillery, producing whisky, was located in a town with the same name. The company was founded by the Akuto family, who had been in brewing business since the 1600s. In the 1980s, the company began distilling whisky, but unfortunately, this failed to last, with the company closing down in 2000. Bottles from it are, however, highly sought after. This is a masterpiece of wood management, combining layers of oak and woody spice with delicate fruitiness. A rare whisky that is worth a try!
