Kagoshima-based Hombo Shuzo is the company behind Japan’s ever-popular Mars Shinshu whisky distillery and exciting Wa Bi craft Japanese gin range. In their Mars Yamanashi Winery, the company also produces some exceptional wines. This Mars Chateau bottling is made using Cabernet and Merlot grapes from a late harvest. Elegant, subtle tannins are immediately evident, while dark cherries, herbs, and incense gently enter, on the nose and palate. Dark, rich chocolate and campfire notes make their presence as we’re led to a long, satisfying finish.
