This Akashi 14 Year Old White Oak single malt was produced at the Akashi (or Eigashima) Distillery near Osaka. This whisky was triple-aged, spending 12 years in Spanish brandy casks and then 18 months in ex-sherry casks before finally being finished for 6 months in French white wine casks. The 14 years maturing brings an incredible complexity and balance through a range of exciting notes. Only 600 bottles of this exquisite Japanese whisky were produced, so get your hands on it while you can.
