The Kiyokawa Journey
Kiyokawa’s Iiyama Mountain Farm Distillery is the only farm-to-bottle distillery in all of Japan. The distillers here work with a passionate team of local farmers, who grow a unique strain of mountain barley in the distillery grounds.
This strain was specifically designed to be able to withstand the dramatic shifts in climate present in the Iiyama valley.
Using unique equipment, inventive techniques and innovating with different cask types, Kiyokawa is already making a name for itself as one of Japan's best up and coming distilleries.
Earlier this year, they released two outstanding single cask whiskies which were launched to critical acclaim. Now, as 2026 is drawing to a close, fans will have the chance to get their hands on two more expressions.

Releases to Date
Kiyokawa's first single malts were released earlier this year and showcase two outstanding cask types that deliver drinking experiences of remarkable depth and character.
The first was matured in a First-fill ex-Pedro Ximenez Sherry Barrel, while the second was matured in ex-Marsala wood sourced from Sicily.
Each expression highlights a distinct side of the distillery's spirit, with the casks adding layers of complexity, texture and flavour while allowing the whisky's underlying character to shine through.
Together, they mark an exciting first chapter for Kiyokawa's single malt range and offer a compelling introduction to the distillery's approach to maturation.
Limited quantities of both remain.
