New Arrivals You Should Be Trying

We at dekantā are as busy as ever stocking up on quality whisky. These five bottles, freshly arrived, deserve a taste:

White Oak Single Malt Whisky Akashi (152 USD)

Eigashima is one of the more notable ji-whisky makers in Japan and is best known for producing a brand called White Oak Akashi. This very excellent whisky comes in a tasteful, elegant bottle. If you want to try a superb example of ji-whisky, this is it. This particular release is non-chill filtered and non-coloured and is limited to only 420 bottles. Grab one!

Nikka Whisky Single Malt Yoichi – No Box (73 USD)

If you know your Japanese whiskies, you know that Yoichi is a big thing. One of the best whiskies from Nikka — the company’s pride, one could say. This bottle is offered at such a bargain price that you have no excuse not to grab it immediately. Hurry up; we don’t have that many!

Taketsuru Pure Malt – No Box (73 USD)

Another high-quality whisky from the masters at Nikka, and named after the founder of the company, Taketsuru is an excellent expression from Nikka. At 73 USD for 70cl, there’s little reason not to grab one.

Suntory Pure Malt Whisky Yamazaki 12 Year Old Accordion – No Box (218 USD)

Suntory is Japan’s principal beverage maker. The company’s very name is a seal of quality, as Suntory wins global whisky awards year after year. From time to time the company releases specialty bottles, eminently collectible and favorites among whisky fans. This bottle has the shape of an accordion and will look wonderful on your shelf. Inside is Yamazaki 12 Year Old, among Suntory’s finest.

Hibiki 17 Year old Kachofugetsu (679 USD)

Of all Suntory’s products, the Hibiki remains a bestseller — it’s so popular that we at dekantā spend most of our time ensuring we are properly stocked in it. If you’ve ever tried the Hibiki, you understand. If you haven’t, it’s clearly time to change that.
