Japanese Umeshu

Umeshu is made by steeping ume, the Japanese plum, in a base spirit with sugar. The base is usually shochu, but distillers increasingly use their own whisky or brandy, which gives the finished liqueur a good deal more depth.

Our selection covers large houses such as Suntory alongside sake breweries and distillers including Matsui, Nakata and Wakatsuru Saburomaru. Bottles generally sit between $79 and $149.

Every bottle is photographed as it sits in our Tokyo warehouse, with label and box condition described before you order. Delivery is worldwide, typically 3 to 10 days.

If what you are after is not listed, tell us. Sourcing rare and discontinued Japanese bottles is what we do, and we will look for it.
