Located on the main Okinawan island, close to the world heritage ruins of Nankijin castle, the distillery bearing the same name is certainly surrounded by history. The company was founded in 1948 and now has 45 full-time employees, making it quite large by Okinawan standards. And although there might be many Awamori makers in Okinawa, not many of them are as loved as Nankijin; it has, for example, won many nationwide awards for its products. Marketing their products in beautiful bottles, using the finest ingredients, and made by a master distiller. There are few things in life better than having a cup of this excellent Awamori after a hard day’s work.
