An exciting new whisky from Hombo Mars that was blended at their famous Shinshu distillery, in Japan's Central Alps, before being matured in a Sakura cask, otherwise known as cherry blossom. Only a few whiskies have been matured in such a cask previously, however the results are such that we're likely to see more in the near future. Sweet citrus, ripe banana, candied peels and hints of cinnamon are apparent on the nose before sweet cherries, subtle incense and light black pepper spice appear on the palate. The finish is long, with floral notes of hibiscus and Turkish delight lasting for some time.
