The Shizuoka Prologue K Single Malt is the first release from the up and coming Shizuoka distillery. Upon it's founding, the distillery owners purchased some of the left over equipment from the defunct Karuizawa distillery and it was in a ex-Karuizawa still that this fine whisky was created. Distilled from half imported malt and half home-grown malt, it was then aged for 3 years in bourbon barrels, before being bottled for a December 2020 release. It brings a fantastic range of notes to the table and is an excellent entry into the Japanese whisky industry from Shizuoka that has us very excited for what the future holds for this young distillery.
