To create this blend, the master blender extensively studied Scotch whisky, importing selected malts from Scotland and carefully evaluating their character.

After meticulous research and tasting trips to Scottish distilleries, the imported whiskies were aged and blended at Nagahama Distillery, situated on the shores of Lake Biwa—Japan’s largest lake, often called “Mother Lake.” The local environment and pure waters of the lake help regulate conditions, creating an ideal setting for whisky maturation.

The name “Roman” evokes romance, reflecting the distillery’s vision of bringing the right whisky to the right country. Today, Nagahama Distillery not only continues to produce this unique blended whisky but also offers its own single malts on the market.

This transparent, pale-gold whisky opens with an inviting aroma of rich chocolate, orange peel, tropical fruits, and aromatic herbs. On the palate, white peach, cotton candy, and caramel unfold softly, offering richness and freshness in perfect balance. The whisky finishes long and elegant, leaving a gentle, lingering impression.
