The Mars Tsunuki Distillery, their second whisky distillery, began operations in Minamisatsuma City, Kagoshima prefecture, in 2016. It is the fourth in the company's history and the second one that is currently in operation. From 2016, Tsunuki Distillery joined Shinshu Distillery, reintroducing whisky production to Kagoshima prefecture. Distillation at the Tsunuki Distillery began in November 2016. In April of 2020, Single Malt Tsunuki The First was made available. Numerous more releases have occurred since then.
