Discover the genuine flavor of the Japanese whisky, Mars Tsunuki 2023 Edition single malt. The 2023 Edition single malt distillate that is matured in a variety of casks, mostly Bourbon barrels, bottled with 50% alcohol strength, and is released in 2023. This Tsunuki-distilled single malt whisky is the fourth release in the series and as a "Year Edition," this is the second release.
The 2023 edition is a single malt whisky with mild sherry and peat notes that has been matured for several years in a variety of oak barrels, mostly using raw wine from bourbon casks aged for three to four years. A single malt known as Single Malt Tsunuki is made in the Tsunuki distillery, which is endowed with excellent spring water from Mt. Kurata, a peak in the green highlands to the southwest of the Satsuma Peninsula, and a basin-like environment with a broad variety of temperatures. Aromas of marmalade jam and loquat are present in this release, along with honey and pancake overtones that are sweet and a faint but pleasant peaty scent.
A heavy malty flavor emerges together with a hint of citrus freshness, similar to lemon peel. A delightful bitterness lingers on the tongue, followed by a full-bodied sweetness in the finish. Mars Tsunuki Distillery, which is situated in Kagoshima in the southwest highlands of the Satsuma Peninsula, is the one that makes and brews it.
The distillery employs premium spring water from the mountains and is fortunate enough to benefit from the basin's distinct temperature differential impact. In order to provide a taste of the promise that single malt Tsunuki possesses for the future, this 2023 edition of the drink was developed. The Tsunuki distillery also produces a single malt product, according to the label on the bottle.
