Revealing the beauty and taste of Kavalan Triple Sherry Cask Single Malt Whisky. Featuring the predominant flavor of Oloroso dried fruits, this is a unique blend of three superb sherry-aged casks: Pedro Ximénez, Moscatel, and Oloroso. The concept was blending the dried fruits from the Oloroso with the sweetness found in the two other varieties of sherry barrels. The distillery's distinctive tropical fruits are combined with rich caramel and maltose sweetness to create a subtle yet remarkable sherried whisky that is perfect for casual get-togethers with friends.
This rich, clear, and fragrant whisky has a deep scarlet color. A surplus of luscious red berries, accompanied by notes of fig bread, dates, blueberries, and fresh grapes, are present. Along with cinnamon, brown sugar pastry, and toffee and milk chocolate, there's a distinct woody note (rose petals, fresh herbs) that resembles the aroma of well-aged cognac.
Certainly, the flavor is not as overpowering asanticipated. Remarkably rich, with a greater presence of dates, rum raisins, candied fruits, honey sweetness, and crimson oranges. Although there is a hint of pressure-cooked woodiness, the strength prevents any dryness from showing. There are hints of cloves, Christmas cake, and plenty of caramel sweetness. It finishes with more chocolate and caramel, a nutty flavor, and a noticeable hint of toasted wood.
