Being surely one of the more interesting and elegant Karuizawa bottles anywhere, this was exclusively bottled for the Isetan department store in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Containing a blend from casks of Karuizawa five decades- the first one from the 1960s and the last one from the 2000s - you can technically say that you have all of Karuizawa in a single bottle here!
Karuizawa distillery was a small distillery in Karuizawa which produced first class malt whiskeys. There is no shortage of thawing snow at Mt Asama and due to this the chilly climate provided an excellent location for whiskey making. In 1976 therefore, the first 100% domestic malt whiskey saw the light of day at Kuruizawa. The whiskey was stored in small barrels, the distillery furthermore used small pots for distillation. This very small distillery was noted for producing whiskey of the finest quality.
