For the Journeys Samurai, artist Kikue Ichihashi, wanted to develop traditional elements of Japanese culture with a modern twist.

Taking inspiration from Cyberpunk artwork and anime, Kikue created a stunning design that showcases a strong, android Samurai, surrounded by a dark atmosphere. This background signifies the often brutal and bloody lives of the Samurai, who fought all across Japan for centuries.

The design is surrounded by Spider Lilies, which translate to “Higan Bana” ( 彼岸花 ) in Japanese. Higan means “the other side”, which refers to the afterlife, often resulting in the flower being referred to as “ghost flower”.

The set contains some of the finest whiskies from the very best distilleries around Japan, including top quality single malts from rising stars of the industry, such as Shizuoka, Kanosuke and Sakurao, taking you on a journey across the enthralling world that is the modern Japanese whisky landscape.
