You’ve heard about Ichiro Akuto, right? His family have been in the alcoholic beverage making industry since the 1600s. Ichiro’s father ran the Hanyu distillery and began experimenting with whisky making until his unfortunate bankruptcy. Ichiro then founded his own distillery, named Chichibu, located in Saitama, just outside of Tokyo. From the cracking Ichiro’s Malt range, this is a smooth, apple-y Japanese blended malt, almost certainly comprised of Hanyu & Chichibu (where it was matured, vatted and bottled).

On the Nose

Wonderfully floral, fruity, and spicy, with an elegant dance of aromas including rose, lychee, saffron, and chocolate. These delicate notes create an inviting and artful scent profile. 

On the Palate

Characterised by freshness, it unfolds gracefully with heady floral tones and subtle white truffle nuances, refined, balanced, and intriguingly complex.

The Finish

Lingering notes of rose, lychee, saffron, and chocolate persevere on the palate, providing a beautifully round and persistent close.
