You’ve heard about Ichiro Akuto, right? If you haven’t, it’s about time you did! He is a rock star of the Japanese whisky world, and his family have been in the alcoholic beverage industry since the 1600s. Ichiro’s father ran the Hanyu distillery and experimented with whisky making until his unfortunate bankruptcy. Ichiro then founded his own Chichibu distillery, acquired the remains of the Hanyu stock and sold it as his own. Here, we have Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Malt Dream Cask 2008. It was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2016. Only 194 bottles were ever released and, like everything else from Ichiro, they are a true delight!
