This release was bottled with an alcohol strength of 48% and was distilled in 2020 at Yasato Distillery following a three-year maturation period in cherry brandy casks. Located in Naka, Ibaraki Prefecture, lies the Kiuchi Sake Brewery. Kiuchi Brewery was established in 1823 as a sake brewery, just like many other Japanese breweries, and didn't start investing in beer until 1996. It went on to take on the challenge of producing distinctive sake. In addition to sake, shochu, wine, and liqueurs, the company also produces craft beer, known as "Hitachino Nest Beer". Bringing Kiuchi Sake Brewery's special Japanese whisky to people around the world was their aim. Located in the Yasato area of Ishioka City, Ibaraki Prefecture, at the eastern foot of Mount Tsukuba, the Yasato Distillery was constructed with the goal of developing the production of Japanese whisky. The area is used for harvesting top quality crops because of its large day-to-night temperature variance and low rainfall each year. The environment and the abundant high-quality spring water from Mount Tsukuba are the sources of the whisky produced by Kiuchi Brewery.
