This 28 Year Old Komamoto Karano Ongaeshi is a result of Susumu Akira, the late president of the Fujita Hitoyoshi sake distillery, meeting with Masataka Taketsuru in Hokkaido many years ago. Taketsuru, a legend of Japanese whisky, gave Akira a cask that had previously housed top quality single malt whisky. Susumu Akira filled it with sake and left it to age, and this bottle is the result. Mellow, smooth and sweet with influences from both the whisky and the oak, this well-aged spirit is absolutely divine.
