Introducing the The Akkeshi Miyabi single malt Japanese whisky. The Hokkaido Akkeshi Distillery created this release, which was bottled at a 55% abv strength. This well-crafted single malt primarily features the citrusy and spicy notes from Mizunara barrels together with the malt and peat flavors that are specific to Akkeshi malt. The distinct citrusy aroma of the main malt is likely derived from Hokkaido Quercus oak barrels. In addition, the secret component is created from wine barrels, bourbon barrels, sherry barrels and Mizunara barrels. The top notes of this expression smell spicy and smoky, while therefreshing and bittersweet scents like bitter orange and summer mandarin orange are present. A faint scent and lactic acid are also there, creating a sense of intricacy with just one core. A sticky mouthfeel that lacks any indication of alcohol content on the palate, with smoky, sweet and sour, aromatic malt flavor with an orange-like aftertaste. The taste progressively turns spicy and leaves your mouth tingling from a certain amount of stimulation. Long-lasting woody sweetness blends well with the bittersweet and charred peat flavors.
