The Akashi Flying Tiger is the first single cask Japanese whisky released exclusively for Taiwan retail. It comes from the excellent, up and coming, Akashi White Oak distillery in Eigashima and was distilled in 2016 before being matured in a 1st fill bourbon barrel and bottled in 2019. The stunning label and box designs were created by famous French-Chinese artist, Hu Yu, who applied a fusion of western and eastern influences to create a release that is as visually stunning as it is delicious. The label features The Flying Tiger, who is said to grow swords as feathers and have wings covered in flames, while soaring through the sky at the speed of an arrow. Only 222 cask strength bottles of this gorgeous whisky were produced, making it rare and collectable.
